Dr. Woodson is a singer, worship leader and an award-winning choir director. He was the choir director of the McDonald’s Gospelfest winners, Another Peace for over 16 years, and the director of the Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church Choir (Los Angeles Regional winners of the National Verizon Wireless How Sweet the Sound Competition) for over 12 years. Their titles include: The V-Cast People’s Choice Award, Best Large Choir, Best Overall Choir in the Los Angeles region and the finalist for the “Best Church Choir in America. The choir also performed on the annual Gospel Showcase in the Knotts Berry Farm amusement park and regularly on the Celebrate Gospel Showcase at the California Adventure Disneyland Resort.
His choirs have shared the stage with the late Edwin and Walter Hawkins, Take 6, Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, Kurt Carr, Kirk Franklin, Vickie Winans, Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Another Peace was also the guest choir in the wedding ceremony of celebrities Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, and the choir has performed their original arrangement of the National Anthem at the Los Angeles Marathon and the Los Angeles Clipper home games.
Dr. Woodson has also served many years as the music coordinator for the Southeastern California Conference Camp Meeting Task Force, and he has served as the Minister of Music and Worship Leader for the Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church for over 19 years. In 2023, Dr. Woodson was the Music Producer for The Harlem Renaissance section of the world-famous Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach California. In addition to production, he was casted as a gospel singer/soloist and performed nightly during the 2023 summer season.
Dr. Woodson practices dentistry in his private practice in Upland, California. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Woodson for over 38 years. They have 3 children: Stephanie Gardner, Alan Woodson Jr. (AJ) and Jocelyn Nzabalinda.
