Instrumental Director, SIP 2025

Wayne Bucknor is an international concert pianist, composer, songwriter, producer, and arranger. He is a professor of piano at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and enjoys teaching, directing the Jazz Ensemble, and playing for the school's world-renowned Aeolians choir. As a baritone, he has performed with the acapella group Take 6 on two of their world tours. As a composer, he accomplished a personal feat of writing a song on every day of the year in 2016. His most recent publication is his three movement Gospel Sonatina for Hal Leonard Publishing. Dr. Bucknor received his DMA in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Alabama. He and his wife Carmen have three adult children: Nina, Wayne II, and Cameryn.
